Stephen's lesion editing- learning the basics and setting up Premiere C6
Today I learnt in Stephen's lesion how to use and set up Adobe Premiere pro C6. In induction week we were put into groups of 3 and asked to create a 1 minute serial killer film. The task today was to learn about how to set up Adobe Premiere pro for editing films in the future and learn the basic skills on how to use the program .
The first thing I had to do was watch a video tutorial, which was about how to set up Adobe premiere Pro C6 and some basic skills on how to use the program.
The first thing we had to do was set up a folder for video files to go into as well as the premiere pro film sequence , this avoid any vedio footage not being reconized by the program and mean students can can locate their fiies easily by having a folder named with the particular film production.
Setting up folders for film footage .
it was a fun process as it taught me how to work in a groups more and discuss and share ideas. Before we went on to edit our film we had to fill out a l SDHC CARD LOG this included the file number and the description Then we all took in turns to edit the production.
some other things i leant
I also learnt some really good tips as well from my tutor such as how to mark in and out a clip . in the preview window , you have an option to to mark in or out your film , in other words - your can use this process to be very precise about where you want your clip of your film to begin or end .
Another thing I learned was you can use the arrows at the bottom of your editing working space to zoom in and out , see more clearly when editing.
As a group we decided we wanted a tittle at the start and the of film. You do this by going to: 'title ' and then ether picking default title or one of the other options.
when you finish your film , you have to make sure you render it by hitting enter, otherwise you can have a issue with your clips not playing. you know you have rendered your film properly when the tool bar at the bottom of your editing working space is green and has no red parts.
then you have to export your files by going to file export .
The format is windows media
Then set your pre sets. This depends on the type of film you are doing we used HD 720/25.
Lastly to check your the title of your sequence is saving , you do , save, que , media incoder.
